XBOX DESIGN TEAM
ROLE: VISUAL DESIGNER | UI/UX | PRODUCTION
BRIEF
While at Microsoft I worked with the Xbox team. I worked directly with the PC designer, mobile designer and the Dev team as the designated to tackle the full responsive story for the app. Our team collaborated with the user-interaction designers throughout the process as we negotiated the data to be displayed on the limited screen real estate. We streamlined the style guide for the entire app, ensuring it was adjusted for scalability for the different device screens the app was going to be available on. These were namely the console, Windows OS and the Windows Phone. It was an arduous task working on a standardized style for the different outlets, but the entire challenge allowed me to grow as a designer and opened my eyes to all the intricacies of working in a big corporation. When we hit a roadblock (i.e. funding for the project changed) the teamwork and support that ensued was vital in getting this project done. It was gratifying to see our project come to fruition in the end, and I had a deep appreciation for my team.

SCALING ACROSS DEVICES
Working along with the interaction designer and the lead designers we figured out breaking points. The main word was “consistency” and how it was applied across our entire app. Figuring out things like where data began to truncate and where it got to the point of being omitted as the screen scaled down to mobile. We wanted a responsive story that made sense to our users. User feedback was crucial to our process.
