CHALLENGE
This product is not in the hobbiest market but it does exist for the agricultural industry. The program requires training to use and has controls and gauges for many things that a large greenhouse would need. We needed something more simple and user friendly

Learning the gardening process
Industrial machine existed but had a high learning curve
Program had outdated design

SOLUTION
Went and interviewed a greenhouse horticulturalist. He showed us the program and how the greenhouse works. We took that data and created a simplified consumer friendly version.

THE APP
Thrive gives user access and control of a smart green house through their mobile device. The greenhouse has all the components needed to make your garden thrive. Users can communicate with the greenhouse from anywhere and can accomplish task like watering plants, adjust temperature, receive notifications, learn about plants from Thrive’s plant database, and much more. Thrive also features a social network of gardeners where you can share tips, images and help one another with issues.

We wanted to make this logo work on everything. So we made sure it worked on dark and light backgrounds.

The best user feedback was from these paper mock ups. We sat with users and had them go through flows like singing into the app. It was the most fun since a lot of the users enjoyed the paper cut outs as they tested the app.
